Our Favourite Days Out in North Wales Over Half Term

With half term coming up in Wales (cue the kids being off school for a week and us parents scrambling for things to do with them!), we thought we'd share our favourite places to take our little ones to give you some ideas! North Wales is full of beautiful scenery, activities and adventures, and there's something for every child to enjoy - whether they're brand new to the world or heading into their teenage years! The places on this list are perfect for locals and holidaymakers alike, and we hope you enjoy our suggestions.

Betws-y-Coed

Betws-y-Coed is one of the loveliest villages in the North Wales area; with a beautiful forest walk, scenic river and picnic areas, it's the perfect place for an active day out with the kids. You can also ride on the famous mini train at the Betws-y-Coed train station (transport-mad children will love this!), and there's an array of independent businesses to shop with too. It really is the perfect day out!

Keep your little ones warm and dry during forest walks with our Frugi Puddle Buster Coats and Ricosta Kimi Waterproof Boots.

Bodnant Garden, Tal-y-Cafn

Bodnant Garden is a beautiful National Trust property with plenty to see and do; it's a stunning location no matter what the weather or season, and is just as lovely in autumn and winter as it is in spring and summer. Play Pooh Sticks in the river, explore fairytale dells and and take in all the autumnal colours. It's super child-friendly and dogs are welcome too, so you can spend the day with the whole family!

Sparkle and shine whilst still keeping cosy in our Billieblush winter coats paired with beautiful Ricosta Heart Waterproof Boots.

RSPB Nature Reserve, Conwy

The RSPB Nature Reserve in Conwy is one of our favourite places to spend a few hours; there's a scenic walk around the reserve and the RSPB staff usually hand out free scavenger hunt worksheets to keep your little ones occupied. There's lots of free events on throughout the holidays too, and the natural wooden playground is a fun way to end the day!

Dress your little ones in our Ricosta Basti Waterproof Boots and Frugi Explorer Coat to keep them protected against the elements.

Bodafon Farm Park, Llandudno

There's always lots to do at Bodafon Farm, and if you live in Conwy you can visit for free with a local's pass (just take along proof of address and they'll give you one)! There's tractor rides, lots of adorable animals to feed, an amazing adventure play castle and a cafe/restaurant serving delicious food. Bodafon Farm is also home to the Owl's Trust and you can visit their amazing collection of owls and other birds of prey.

Our Grass & Air Puddle Suits and Colour Changing Wellies are perfect for a day on the farm!

The Beach!

By far our favourite (and cheapest!) day out, and we're surrounded by so many beautiful beaches in North Wales. Whether you explore West Shore or Colwyn Bay, there's plenty of room for everyone. As the weather gets colder, wrap your little ones up in waterproof all-in-ones and our amazing insulated Bogs rainboots so they can splash in rockpools and build sandcastles no matter what the weather throws at them!

We hope you've loved our round-up of our favourite days out in North Wales! Did we miss any out that you think should be on here? Let us know in the comments!
